The Annual Reston Multicultural Festival celebrates the diversity of many cultures found in our area. Everyone shares music, entertainment, dress, food, and cultural trinkets from around the world. The Northern Virginia Returned Peace Corps Volunteers organization is hosting a booth at the festival to promote cross-cultural understanding and encourage community involvement.
Come and participate in this Third Goal activity and represent the Peace Corps experience to visitors including adults and children. During the day there is a U.S. Naturalization Ceremony, singing and dancing entertainment from various cultures, organization booths representing diverse cultures in the Northern Virginia area and food and crafts from various cultures to purchase.
There are three volunteer shifts available. Each shift has a limit of three volunteers because the space is limited for mobility, but please stop by anyway in case we need a stand-in volunteer!
9:30 am-12:30 pm (includes 90 minutes for booth setup; festival starts at 11)
*BONUS: You have the opportunity to observe a Naturalization Ceremony during the first shift!
3:30-6:30 pm (includes 30 minutes for booth breakdown and cleanup; festival ends at 6)
To sign up for one of the shifts, go to Sign-Up Genius:
You will receive a confirmation email from Sign-Up Genius after signing up.
If you cannot volunteer, come to visit sometime during the day. We would love to have you visit.
